The artists' intentions are to create a one-of-a-kind, original work of art that is living and makes an indelible impression in the mind of the viewer ...to touch the soul, inspire the spirit, and sometimes invoke laughter. The works combine illustrative painting with a blend of exotic papers, glass beads, stain glass, mosaic tile and other materials; merging individual styles into one striking image. The desired effect is paradoxically painting and collage, whimsical and elegant, contemporary classical. The work is edged with a coordinating color and glazed, producing a finished, frame-less work of art. Each piece is an original work accompanied by an original story adding to its individual identity*. We have endeavored to take the techniques of painting, collage and mosaic to another level in a unique art form we call "Papier Collé". We draw inspiration from innovators like Modigliani and continue the grand tradition of mixed media masters like Gustav Klimt. *Each piece is an original work.
